Causes of Global Warming

Human activities have a greater impact on the environment. The selfish acts of humans who do not care about the environment and the humans who really try to take care of the environment have to pay the price. People's aim is to achieve their goals, no matter what happens to the environment. The selfish nature of humans is the main reason for global warming. The world is undoubtedly warming. This is largely the result of emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from human activities including industrial processes, fossil fuel combustion, deforestation, etc. Continuation of greenhouse gas emissions will result in additional warming over the 21st century, rise in sea-level that will gradually inundate coastal areas, changes in precipitation patterns, risk of droughts and floods, threats to biodiversity, and a number of potential challenges for public health.

Carbon Dioxide
In 2002 about 40% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions stem from the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. Coal accounts for 93 percent of the emissions from the electric utility industry.

Natural gas gives off 50% of the carbon dioxide, the major greenhouse gas, released by coal and 25% less carbon dioxide than oil, for the same amount of energy produced. Coal contains about 80 percent more carbon per unit of energy than gas does, and oil contains about 40 percent more Carbon dioxide is emitted from power plants, cars, trucks, airplanes and buildings
